Should UK Universities embrace ‘Kickstarter’ style module…. absolutely

What a year 2012 was for kick starter and the 17 projects that had over $1Million pledged individually. The pebble watch, or the kit that enables your lights, windows or sockets to  link directly to your smartphone (smart things), polaroid for a mobile and the advent of affordable 3 D printers are some of my favourites.

Even more impressive is that Stanford now teaches kickstarter for class credit raising the question should universities in the UK embrace a ‘kickstarter’ module that encourages entrepreneurship. Given we are in the decade of everything being re invented would you be encouraging your son or daughter just starting uni to take this module? Come on Richard B or Alan S, a great opportunity to inspire 1000s of bright young things.
